My mics are (L) Astatic JT-30 "Spokesman", Turner BX "Challenger" (R), and Electro-Voice EV605 (C). They all have in common NOS Shure controlled magnetic or controlled reluctance hi-z elements. I like their midrange "honk", reliability, and consistency between examples. I've had a bunch of mics over the years, from Shure 520's and 707's to 545's, but these are the ones I've always come back to. I switched from crystal elements to the CM's because I like their durability and relative consistency across examples. I also like the greater dimension to sound over crystals and that nice mid-range "honk". Stopped using volume controls many years ago for a number of reasons. Like I said, I keep it simple.
Harmonicas:
I use primarily Hohner Marine Band 1896 harmonicas that I modify for my playing style.

For chromatic, I use Hohner's 280/64 and Hering's 5164.
